Safe toilets. Healthy girls. Dignity at school
Many of the schools Savana works with lack safe, private and gender-sensitive sanitation facilities. Inadequate toilets make it difficult for girls to manage their periods safely and with dignity, while poor sanitation can also contribute to wider health and hygiene concerns.
Through One Toilet at a Time, we are raising funds to build a dedicated girls' toilet and handwashing facility at one of our partner schools in Uganda — creating a safer, cleaner and more dignified environment for girls to learn.

Healthy girls. Dignity at school
Through Savana’s reusable sanitary-pad classes, girls learn how to make their own washable menstrual pads — giving them a practical and sustainable way to manage their periods with greater confidence and dignity.
The sessions provide girls with the materials, knowledge and practical skills needed to make reusable pads for themselves, helping reduce reliance on disposable menstrual products and giving them a skill they can continue using after the training.
